Re: user profiles |

Here's what I just posted for someone else:
What you'll have to do is logon with the domain user account and logoff.
Logon as a different account with administrative rights and copy the
local
profile into the folder for the domain account. Then reset the
permissions
(simply grant the domain user full control and propagate down the tree).
If you want this to be a roaming profile, it's easier. Copy the folder
to a
network location, change the permissions and then point the user account
properties to this location using the ADU&C snap-in.

This shouldn't be the case. However if you use roaming profiles, things
under the local settings folder don't replicate/ synchronise by default.
You can also try the Windows XP file and transfer wizard (USMT).

What is the best way to move/copy a users local machine profile to another?
I
am switching to AD, and I would like to save and apply all the users
settings
when the machines create a new profile when they log into the AD domain. I
have tried to just copy the profile but it leaves some things out. I want to
also copy individual program settings as well. For example, dreamweaver and
all of its site settings. TIA. |
