Could I use LCS for SIP Telephony? |
|
|
Hi everybody, sorry if my question is out-of.context but I need know if
could I use LCS into a SIP Architecture? LCS works as SIP User Agent Server?
Registrar? Location Server?
I need that my IVR get SIP calls (SIP User Agent Client).
Thanks in advance,

yes, you can. But there are some things you should know:
- LCS requires TCP or TLS as the transport protocol, the
wiedely used UDP isn't supported
- LCS supports only NTLM or Kerberos authentication,
no Basic/Digest authentication
- LCS provides the SIP archtitecture only, that means
you would need a SIP<>PSTN gateway for the
connection to the public telephone network
Some manufacturers offer LCS compatible SIP phones,
for example Siemens (optiPoint 400).
