If I want to use Live Comm Std 2005 for a single domain with less than 5000
users. No outside the domain IM. Strictly over our Intranet.
Do I need a separate Access Proxy server and a separate Director server?
Can Director run on the box w/ Live Comm on it? Thx.

you would only need an Access Proxy if you want to deploy
remote user access or a federation topology. You won't
need an AP if you limit LCS usage to your intranet or
if users have VPN access to the network.

AP would require a separate server. That could be
a virtual machine (Virtual Server, VMWare), of course,
but it has to be separated.
