Cluster Diagnostics SPFAIL-Regular Access Denied |
|
|
I'm attempting to run the Cluster Diagnostics SPFAIL-Regular test. The test
fails after 4 seconds with the following error
7f4:1dc.01/11[13:50:23.990](004863) INFO [API] User denied access using
default cluster SD. GetLastError() = 0x00000005; dwStatus = 0x00000000.
I'm a little confused. I'm running the test from my workstation and am
logged in as myself. I am a member of the administrators group. Could
someone shed some light on this?
Thanks.

Does the cluster diagnostics work if you run it as the cluster service
account?
Regards,
John

John:
I tried running it using the runas command and specifing the cluster service
account and I get the following error.
RUNAS Error - Unable to run c:\clustdiag\clustdiag.exe
87: The parameter is incorrect.
This error occurs right after it asks me for the password for the cluster
service account after I enter the runas command on the command line. Does
that shed any light on things for you, John?
TIA.

Are you trying to run a script, or are you just trying to launch the GUI?

John

John:
Originally, all I was trying to do was to run the gui. Most recently, I
tried running cluterdiag.exe from the command line with the runas command. I
guess I don't know how to run as a different user in the Windows GUI (other
than logging out as myself and logging in as the cluster service which I did
try to do and received the same error as when I tried to run as myself.) At
any rate, any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

You may just have the syntax incorrect for your command line.
Can you run the clusdiag program locally on the cluster nodes? Are you able
to log onto the cluster nodes as your UID and run the clusdiag GUI?

John
