I have two clustered window services (applications). What should the startup
type (window service property) be set: Manual or Automatic. I need the
service to be up when the fail over take place.

Cluster aware applications like SQL and Exchange need to be at manual. Is
your application cluster aware?

Cheers,

Rod

They need to be set to Manual so that the cluster service can start or stop
them as needed.

The cluster service will start them on whichever node owns the group that
they belong to.
