Disk resource failure |
|
|
Hi all and the question is now the environment has 2 win2k3 server running
cluster with a san storage. The issue is that we have a quorum disk resource
in a cluster group, but somehow the resource can get online. We have checked
that somehow the drive information in the resource is missing so that it
can't take online, we have already added another drive resource to solve it.
Here is the problem, we cannot delete the pervious drive resource. When we
try to delete, the cluster admin console get halt. And for now we can only
use the command mode to manage the cluster instead of GUI cluster admin
console.
Can we force to delete the resource in the cluster group? Any solution to
remove the halt resource in the cluster node instead of re-configure the
cluster service? |

Launch the cluster administrator, open the cluster name with a "." (dot, not
quotes). Lastly, make sure no one is dependent on the resource :)
Cheers,

Hi Rodney,
Thx for your prompt reply.
What's your meaning of adding a "." with the cluster name? Would you please
explain it for detail?
In fact I've tried to connect it with the cluster name "clusterA" and adding
the domain "clusterA.mydomain.com", both work. But the problem is when the
cluster trying to bring the qourum disk resource online for a period, the
cluster admin will then halt.

Instead of typing "clusterA.mydomain.com", type ".". Trust me it will work,
it allows you to connect to the local cluster service.

In fact, my question is "How to force to remove resource in cluster
manager?", that's all.

Have you tried to take the resource offline?
