Archiving, LCS 2005 |
|
|
I receive the following error on my LCS 2005 server, the MSMQ is installed on
the LCS and the SQL server where I want the archive to live.
Live Communications Archiving Agent (30511) - "A message from Live
Communications Archiving Agent failed to reach the destination queue.
Acknowledgement class: 8000. Destination queue cannot be reached, the queue
may have been deleted. Cause: This could happen if the Archiving Agent
receives a negative acknowledgement from the service. Resolution: Please
check the Archiving service and restart"
On the LCS server I can expand the MSMQ and see the connection to the remote
SQL box, however archiving does not seem to work. The SQL MSMQ does not show
any connections. I've checked the database exists, permissions have been set
for the rtcarchivingdomain group.

I fixed this with some help,
The LCS 2005 by default installs the Archiving agent, the Archiving Service
is only installed on the server hosting the SQL database. You need full
domain rights (eg: schema master) to install and configure the Archiving
service.
I think alittle more work needs to be done on documentation for LCS 2005
Archiving.

I have not had a problem deploying archiving. I followed the information in
the "Live Communications Server 2005 Deploying Archiving Service" (Nov 2004)
document and it worked like a charm. The schema master is needed for the
forest prep portion of the LCS install, but I did not need it to deploy
archivng.
Did you follow the directions in this document or in one of the other
documents. The other documents are somewhat vague, but most likely because
this document exists.
