Hi

I'm having problems with my backup. I use a Sony SDX-500C SCSI 50/130GB AIT2 drive for backup. All the servers backup to the C drive of the backup server and then the backup server writes the data to tape.

Previously the tapedrive was on another server also with Server 2003 Standard SP1 but the only difference between the two are the following:

1. The tapedrive was connected to the onboard SCSI controller where it is now connected to a Adaptec 29160 PCI SCSI controller on the new backup server.

2. The old server was an Intel based server where the new one is an AMD based server.

It almost seems like there is a problem with the compression. At the moment I am backing up about 85GB of data on the 50/130GB tape. The backup succeeded with 77GB 2 days ago!!

The loaded the latest driver for both the controller and tapedrive. The tapedrive is set to use hardware compression.

I use a script which a schedule to run. HC is on in the script as well.

What could be the problem?
