Just a quick question. I'm not an expert in networking, but I know my way around protocols and all that jazz. I've got a problem that I just cannot seem to find the answer to.

My friend and I are trying to use Windows XP Pro's built in VPN feature (we specifically need it for IPX capabilities). He's behind a router and has forwarded and allowed all the appropriate passthroughs. He has a program called ActivePorts that shows all ports that are incoming/outgoing from his computer. ActivePorts shows that I am coming into his computer on port 1723. He forwarded all the ports, 47, 500, 1723, 1701, etc. I get through all the connection junk then it gets to "Verifying User Name and Password." After that it doesn't go any further. After about 30 seconds I get error #628--which kindly states that his computer might have refused my connection. Any suggestions? I'm assuming that it's an authentication problem, but we have never really changed any major settings and I'm assuming that it should work "out-of-box." Anything at all would be helpful. Smile
