I have a Server running W2K Server and it needs to be rebuilt. We are in a very strict environment and we cannot upgrade the OS. What I am trying to do is copy the AD passwords to some sort of file so when I rebuild this server the user's will not have to create new passwords.

I have found some forums saying use pwdump to get the password file but no one has any idea on how to restore to the system using this file. I am not trying to crack the passwords, just export them to the new rebuilt server.

Another forum talked about ADMT, which sounds good, but I cannot find good documentation to see if I can only migrate the user account passwords. We are changing the way the account is setup so we don't want to carry everything, JUST the password file.

Some others have a post here and there about exporting between servers, but I am rebuilding the same physical box, so that isn't an option.

Anyone have any ideas???

THANKS IN ADVANCE!
