Wondering if anyone could help me. My current place of work has a site to site vpn connection. I wanted to setup vpn on a windows 2003 server for employees to connect to from home. Anybody have any idea on how to configure the 506e firewall to make this happen? Also, i am very hesitant on hooking up my laptop via serial cable to the com port of the firewall, because i wouldn't want to mess up the settings for the site to site vpn connection already going on. Let me know if you have any information on how to set this up. Thanks, Bob.

You should be able to surf into the pix on the internal port. I know with the 515e I can, it gives me a Java configuration screen.

I am no pix guru though, my speciality is ISA 2004 Server.

I can get into my pix through the serial cable, but i don't know exactly what settings to make to my firewall to setup the vpn. There is not much information on the net regarding firewall/vpn setup.

Well if you have setup VPN connections on other firewalls you should be able to figure out how to configure on your PIX. But I do suggest you connect to the internal port of your PIX and try to https://(PIX IP)/startup.html to see if that starts the web browsing interface.

What I juts showed you works on the PIX 515e.

I didn't setup the pix to pix configuration, it already existed when i got there. I ordered a book so hopefully that helps. Anymore info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I tried that earlier to see if the pdm (i believe it is called) would start. I don't think it is configured. Going through paperwork i think it might be installed but turned off in the firewall. Do you know how to turn it on int he firewall?
