All of the sudden I am getting the following error when V2I Protector trys to
send notifications that an imaging process has completed or failed. The error
is:

The message could not be sent to the SMTP server. The transport error code was 0x80040217. The server response was not available
0x80040211 (PowerQuest V2i Protector 2.0 Server Edition)

This started after completing some updates/patches one month ago and
rebooting. The updates were Exchange SP2 and a cuple of Windows Security Updates.

Solution:

Stop the V2I service
Find and edit the v2i.Protector.Notify.xml file with notepad
Locate the <Anonymous vt="11">0</Anonymous>
Change the 0 to 1 and save the file.
Restart the V2I service.
