I just installed LCS 2005 and Communicatior as the client on some workstion.
I attempted to use Windows messenger on 5.1 got to some problems .. anyways
, I will list my issues in numeric order and see if i can get any feedback.

1- Windows Messenger 5.2 does not show SIP client on the account setup ... i
un-installed and re-installed , I also went through article # 890304 which
specifically talks about this issue. It dod not help.

2- Can MSN Messneger run as a LCS 205 Client
3- Any Articles on how to incroroporate third party Internet messengers like
Yahoo,AOL and MS messenger on LCS and communicator

4- Communicator Automatic configuration setup
When I attempted to setup the communicator Account with automatic
configuration , I started getting error messgae, then i realized I need to
create a record on the DNS forward zone. According to deployment guide page
29 I create _sipinternal with port 5060. Since our server domain has a
..local extention on the host offering theis service I put in our server
local name in the format of servername.domain.local ( we run SBS 2003)
When you do the verify .. Page 30 on the std edition deployemtn guide
guideThe record is created and resolves in the local IP address of the server
(192.xxx.xxx.x) and yest communicator does not work. I have to gfo to
advanced setup and choose manul configuration and put the local IP address of
the server (192.xxx.xxx.x)in the field and that way things work.

I appreciate any feedback on these items...

1 - Windows Messenger won't be able to connect to the SIP server when
Communicator is installed on the machine. Communicator, being the
preferred LCS client, takes precedence.
2 - Nope. Just Windows Messenger and Office Communicator at the moment.
See this article:
http://www.directionsonmicrosoft.com/sample/DOMIS/update/2005/10oct/1005voisa_sb.htm.
3 - Here's a good place to start:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/livecomm/prodinfo/publicim.mspx
4 - Sorry, i've never used the auto-config. Hope someone else can help
you out!
