I have a system where we have set up SPS already and another system with SQL
Server where the SPS databases are stored.

I want to use MCMS in conjunction with SPS. I've downloaded the eval and
installed it. Now I'm going through the Database Configuration Application.

I'm at the point where I must select the MCMS database.

My question is should MCMS get its own database (i.e. an empty database that
I create)? Or should I point it to one of the SPS databases? If I should
point it to a SPS database, which one? I see *_SITE, *_PROF, and *_SERV,
plus SPS01_Config_Db

Do yourself a favor and create a new DB for MCMS! I have the same setup (SPS
and MCMS) and I couldn't imagine running MCMS from one of the SPS DBs. One
resaon that comes to mind this late at night is SQL backup and restore
problems. If you need to restore either products DBs then you will be
restoring both products DBs.

Hi,

It is not possible to use Sharepoint database as MCMS database. You should
use separate database.

To integrate both you must use MCMS Connector for Sharepoint,

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=6e9925c4-91da-404a-86dd-78d51bcf0a51&DisplayLang=en

Cheers,
Chester.

~Are you using MCMS? Then try MCMS Manager -
