Hi!

We have a DC on the head office. We also have an offsite branch office that
also connects to the head office's DC. However, sometimes when our WAN
connetion is down, we are having problems resolving dns names on the branch
office since the DC on the head office cannot be contacted. We are planning
to put up a secondary DC on the branch office but we do not want another
domain for that. We just want the branch DC to replicated regularly with the
head office DC. Is that possible?

Thanks

Do just what you stated, but the big issue is going to be connectivity.
Make sure you have bandwidth for this second dc. I also would integrate
your dns into ad. Make sure you build a second site for this new server.
