Hi

Have read the install documentation for SP2 at:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?id=906145

It is stated:

"MCMS 2002 SP2 does not install new features. MSCMS 2002 SP2 only updates
features that you have installed together with MCMS 2002 SP1a. For example,
if you have not installed the Developer Tools feature, MSCMS 2002 SP2 will
not install this feature for you.

Make sure that you have Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 or Microsoft
Visual Studio .NET 2002 installed."

That means that CMS 2002 Sp2 and VS 2005 aren't compatible with each other
by a default installation, and VS.2003 now are a "prerequisites"???

so now a CMS 2002 (with template develop) installation now consist of the
following:

VS.2003
CMS 2002
CMS 2002 SP1
-> Modify CMS Installation to ad Dev tools and Sitemanager.
VS 2005
CMS 2002 SP2

Come on microsoft - you can do better than that !!

Hi HW,

yes. VS.NET 2003 is only required to get the VS.NET developer tools for
VS.NET 2003 installed.
It is not required afterwards.

Cheers,
Stefan

Hi HW,

actually the steps below are currently the only supported methods to get
MCMS working with VS.NET 2005.

Cheers,
Stefan
