SBS 4.5 to 2003 |
|
|
Within the next two weeks I expect to replace an SBS 4.5 with a
new server running SBS 2003. The workstations are all Windows 98, so I don't
really need to save the existing domain. I'll almost certainly just do a
regular installation of SBS 2003 as if the existing server weren't there,
keeping the same server and domain names, and the Windows 98 workstations
should be none the wiser. The only question mark is the Exchange 5.5
information store. Should I just use Exmerge to export the dozen or so
mailboxes to PST files and import them into the new Exchange 2003 store, or
should I consider an easier method? I know that the PST method may bloat the
store somewhat, but I'm not sure that any other method is worth the effort. |

That is probably the best plan BUT I would seriously consider upgrading the
Workstations to XP Pro. You will not be happy with 98 on SBS 2k3.
