Hi everyone,

One of our older sites has not been able to run the Windows Update for a
good 4 months - we get the following error message when trying to connect to
the update server...

[Error number: 0x80072EFE]
The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are
trying to view. The options provided below might help you solve the problem.

I've done a bit of looking but there is nothing conclusive with that error
message and I've run through the Microsoft answers for it and none of that
has worked.

Does anyone have any ideas please??

Many thanks,

Grant, NZ

Sorry, forgot to say its a Microsoft Small Business Server 2000 with SP4...

Have also noticed I cannot download anything, it always times out also.

Keep getting the following;
10060 - Connection timeout
Internet Security and Acceleration Server

Hi Grant,

From Bill Peng:

You experience problems when you access the Windows Update Version 5 or
Version 6 Web site through a server that is running ISA Server
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/885819

[Note] Please also include the following sites for Microsoft update.

https://*.microsoftupdate.microsoft.com
http://*.microsoftupdate.microsoft.com

Unfortunately, you must follow the work around section in the above KB to
solve the problem. Actually, this is a Windows Update/Microsoft Update
problem, not ISA. I hope this problem can be fixed in the next version of
Microsoft Update.
