I always like to make an image of the system before doing anything that
might cause it to hiccup-then I have a relatively quick fallback if
necessary. OTOH you're going to have a nice clean install after all this is
done!

I am afraid to say. You cannot have a backup DC on an SBS server. Only one
server is allowed to run AD. you can try running a full IDR/ASR backup within
windows. format and hope to god that it restores. But in my experiance it
doesn't. Secondly you could buy a new server. Install SBS and do a migration. |

Yes you will. The new domain may have the same name but all the security
hashes and stuff that supprts connectivity will be different. |

OK
Firstly look here:
http://www.smallbizserver.net/Forum/tabid/53/view/topic/postid/15014/forumid/5/Default.aspx
Are these the only errors on the server?
Have you added any new software? Antivirus etc.
Stop the license logging service.
Any other issues or is this it?

Well.........I haven't done anything to DNS so it should be set up correctly.
Our public IP address is static and is the same one that has been in use for
6 years now and the POP connector is the same one that has been in use since
SBS first started 2 years ago and is used to download mail from several
outside accounts at our ISP....I am thinking that I misconfigured or
uninstalled something (what I don't know) when I was fooling around in IIS
trying to fix Sharepoint. I am going to use the POP troubleshooting tip and
see if I can narrow it down a bit |

If the pop3 download is your only problem then this is not cause for a
re-install.
You can of course use a different POP downloader, I have used GFI Mail
essentials for that purpose in the post, use the trial, even if you dont
purchase it - although it is a very good product, the pop3 downloader and
the email disclaimers continue to work when the trial period has ended.
I have also had a pop3 issue recently this ended up being caused by mcafee
V8 and its port 25 mass mailing filter, removing this corrected the issues.
Try to relay as well what it was you had changed in IIS.
Are you also able to re-run the CEICW? this may also correct the problem.

No...........POP is not the ony problem.........I can receive NO
mail.........it comes it but is bounced back out
immediately...............and the server has been acting sluggish (it was
installed 2 years ago) and I thought since I had the exxchange problem, and
couldn't figure it out, maybe a clean install would help everything....I have
56% of the disk used as of today..... |

You say POP is not the only problem, then you say you cant receive any mail!
this is all done with POP,
The fact you cant get any email and they are being bounced fully suggests it
is the POP or at lease something effecting the function of the POP to cause
you the problem.
Without actually remoting into your server I am not getting much feedback to
work with, I would suggest you try the GFI pop collector in Mailessentials
and not use the pop3 connector that comes with SBS.
If it is something you have installed or setup thats causing these issues
the chances are they will appear again when you re-install, this sounds more
like a configuration/software issue and not a reason for re-install
