hii everyone i am new in portal server development.

i know the difference between wss and sps area. so i want to put wss
sites under area.but even while creating i change the location of wss
site to perticular area/sub area. its always taking it to the url
http://portal name/sites/sitename.aspx.

also how can i set the link of all wss sites that comes under that
area. is any such web part available???

No there isn't. Most you can do is set up another path for the sites to be
grouped under for the URL. For example you can create a new path:
http://portalname/teamsites/sitename

You will then have a choice to have the WSS site under either Sites or the
newly created path (in this case TeamSites). But you can't group sites under
portal areas.

At best you could set up multiple paths for the sites to be grouped under
named the same as the areas to give the general appearance of what you want.

And won't his managers have a fit when they start seeing bucket folders in the
URL. We really should be discouraging the management of URLs and encourage
the management of navigation in the areas.
