Can somebody answer the following question?

We have one domain with ten Windows 2003 domain controllers. Forest and
domain are running in Windows 2003 mode.

A few applications have to resolve hostnames on the Internet.
The DNS servers on the domain controllers can only be used to resolve names
within the local domain. The zone is running in AD integrated mode.
I have read a number of articles that tell me I have to configure forwarding
on the DNS servers.
The DNS servers do not allow me to configure forwarding because they all are
root DNS servers.

What should I do to resolve host names on some of the clients?
Do I have to move to a certain mode?
Make some registry changes?
What needs to be done to configure forwarding on Windows 2003 domain
controllers?

You need to delete the "." (dot) forward lookup zone that is created by
default. You may need to refresh the DNS console to be able to enter the
forwarder.

Danny, thanks for answering the question.

After removing the root zone DNS even starts a wizard to enter the
forwarding server.

It works fine now.
