Change standard MySite template ? |
|
|
Can I change the template used when users create MySite? How?
If it is possible, can I also pre-specify the parameters for InBox and
Calendar that will be used there ?

Thanks for the fast response.
Maybe my question was misunderstood.
I want to change the My Site template before a user uses it (so that
everyone uses the same template but the template itself is different from
what comes in the box - and includes if possible changes to Inbox and
Calendar parameters). I understand that once a user has set up a My Site
page he/she can amend it with FP 2003.
Or did I misunderstand your answer?

| Quote: | Engelbert my friend you can change the template. It is just another site
definition with a couple of tweaks. Fortunately for me I have a guy who
does this type of work for me. :) But I think Heather has some stuff in
her blog about it. http://feeds.feedburner.com/HeathersBlog?m=199 If you
get stuck drop me an email and I will see if I can connect you with my guy
for a kick in the right direction.
As for prepopulating the OWA web part this blog entry may get you started.

Last thing. I found this tidbit of information also.
Like other site definitions, web part location, population, etc. are
controlled by the ONET.XML file. The catch here is that changes made here
will only take effect when you create a new portal. There is a work
around, however. Log in to the portal as an administrator and navigate to
you're MY SITE. Switch to shared view and go in to "Design this Page"
mode. Changes made to MY SITE in shared mode will be reflected in users'
MY SITE next time they use it.
Ok, you now officially know everything I know about customizing mysites.
