Actions menu visibility |
|
|
Hi,
My question is: Can users in non-administrator site group (Reader,
Contributor, Web Designer) see Actions menu on portal site?
(This question is related to an issue I am looking into right now.
Originally I thought only users in Administrator site group would be able to
see Actions menu, however, I have an account which belongs to Reader and
Contributor site groups can see Actions menu and perform operations on the
Actions menu items.)
Any info is highly appreciated! Thank you.

Only the Reader Group and Anonymous have no actions that they can perform on
the portal , all other groups can do at least something just to varying
degrees. The Contributer for example to add to a list or a doc library and
all areas have a default doc library therefore all contributers at portal
will see the actions menu , likewise Content managers have the ability to
add content so if you do not wish people to have the ability at portal do
not make them a contributer at the portal entry level.
if you wish them to be able to contribute to one of the sub areas then you
can give them contributer rights just to that sub area.
