SQL Errors From MCF |
|
|
Greetings,
We are occasionally seeing the following error reported from servers
that are running the MOM Connector Framework. This is used to connect
to an iWave connector which connects to a Tivoli system. The error is
as follows:
Description:
Error updating the status of the MOM to MOM Connector service.
Message:
System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException : [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen
(Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
Call stack:
at
Microsoft.ServerManagement.MOM.MomProductConnector.DasInterop.DasMomConnectorClass.UpdateStatus(String
serverName, Int32& isOwner)
at Microsoft.ServerManagement.MOM.MomConnector.Service.UpdateStatus()
The management servers that are reporting this error are in a different
domain than the SQL server. The MOM database is also on a named
instance of SQL with a different port setting than the default.
However, the database is not on a cluster. Would the KB article 888228
still apply in this scenario? Where are the changes referenced in the
KB article made to? To the IPSec policy in the domains?
Any ideas would be very much appreciated.
Regards,
