Does anyone know of a web part that will display documents from
multiple document libraries?

I have several areas that need to have their own document libraries.
But I also have an area where I want to display all document libraries
in one control.

Or is it possible to just do this with a single document library in the
master area, and display a filtered view of this in my suib-areas?

The FabriKam solution has a multi-lib viewer in it. You just need to
extract the web part from the solution (which can be downloaded via MSDN
or ordered online in DVD form). I don't know of any others offhand.

CorasWorks roll-up webparts. They work great, but they ain't cheap:

This should be possible using FrontPage 2003 Data View Webpart and filters.
