We recently installed a TLS cert so we can use Windows messenger through LCS
2K5 enterprise through VPN as well as in the office. My question is if I'm
logged in at both locations, how does it decide where to send my instant
messages? Sometimes I get home and see a bunch of messages that people sent
me throughout the day and other times it seems to send them to my work
account.

My guess is that it sends it to wherever you last sent a message from but
does anybody know the answer for sure?

If all of the clients attaching to the LCS 2005sp1 environment are forking
aware (i.e. Communicator), then the converstation are sent to both locations
initially. Once the conversation is acknowledged on one of the devices, the
tunnel to the other device(s) is torn down and future communications for that
thread are directed to the single client. If that window is closed (causing
the thread to be terminated) if a new mesage is sent the entire process
starts all over again. This only works with a forking-aware application -
again, Communicator 2005.
