Hi All,

I've just upgraded my local CMS install to SP2 and seem to be having
some difficulty selecting an MCMS database in the DCA. My local CMS
install had been functioning fine up until when I installed SP2. Now
when I attempt to select a different MCMS database in the DCA I get a
dialog box saying the following:

Error verifying rights
Using a SQL Login to access the database requires that this Login have
DBO rights because it is used by this application to configure the
database....

I am using a SQL login rather than trusted authentication and the login
I am using does have DBO rights. I also tried explicitly making the
login the dbo using sp_changedbowner to no avail. The same error
occurs even if I use the sa login. I've never seen this error prior to
the upgrade and as I said, everything was working fine up until that
point.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Graeme

Hi,

this problem has now been reported a couple of times but we haven't seen
this problem inhouse at Microsoft.
You should open a support case to get this analyzed.

Cheers,
Stefan

Hi Graeme,

I also had a similar problem. When I checked the dbo via Enterprise Manager
for the MCMS database (old) the login name (administrator in my case, which
I've used to create the database) was empty. So I've added that user to the
logins and now DCA is working without any problem. This might help you.

Cheers,
Chester.
