Hi Group,

on our 2Node Cluster (W2k3 Sp1) I have the following issues:

1. When I'm going to create a new queue from the passive node (the node
which has not the printer resource online) via \\VirtualServer there is
no "Printer" Folder in the window and i could not install a additional
queue, but when i did this from my Workstation or the active Node, the
"Printer" Folder is there and all is fine. Is this behavior normal?

2. In the first step i installed the premier Node (as Cluster) and the
Print drivers via printmigrator 3.1 on the \\VirtualServer. Few weeks
after, i installed the 2nd Node. After moving the resources the drivers
should be replicated. Now, after moving to 2nd Node, i get some errors
that some Type 2 drivers wasn't replicated. How can i fix this issue?

3. On the described 2nd Node, when i want to see the Printer Propertys
(right click on queue), i get the error that that the driver is not
installed and it could be done by clicking yes, when i click no i
nevertheless see the Propertys. Is this behavior normal?

Thanks for Helping

Markus

What type of printer drivers are you using as there a few problems with w2k3
drivers and clusters especially using kernel based drivers not replicating
through to cluster nodes. In some cases it has been observed that this can
cause serious problems.

What happens when you fail print resources across to the secondary node?

Do you get the same problems when manually installing a driver?

When i start a failover the spooler comes online on the 2nd Node, i
think the problem are some type 2 driver

It may help to install the hot fix mentioned in KB835609 as it helps with
third party print drivers. However it may be a good idea to make sure you
have all the hot fixes specified in KB895092 as it is the current recommended
hot fix level for windows 2003 based clusters and includes KB835609.
