I have two Windows 2000 server DC's that are also my primary and secondary
DNS and WINS servers. Lately i've been having problems connecting to PC's in
the domain via VNC. I have noticed a problem where some of the PC's, and
mainly PC's loaded with XP Pro, where the IP and host names are not resolved,
when IP addresses and changed the changes are not updated in the DNS\ Forward
Lookup Zones. My Forward Lookup Zones do not seem to update at all.

Help please

Johan

Your workstation DNS IPs addresses MUST be pointing to your DNS server otherwise no one can see them and they can't see the DNS server. Think about the role DNS plays, its the backbone of your network, if it doesn't work 110% and your computer requests the IP for machine1.domain.local yet machine1's DNS doesn't point to the DNS server thus it's not registered with DNS how is the DNS server going to know were to point you??
