SP1 Error "Server 2003 Update KB891193 Not Applied"

And I've checked this..
http://www.smallbizserver.net/Default.aspx?tabid=236

"...If you get an error during the installation of Windows Small Business
Server 2003 Update KB891193 for Windows XP Service Pack 2 that the system
cannot find the path, you must have moved the Clientapps folder to another
location but you did not change the path in the registry. Take a look at
this hive in the registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SmallBusinessServer\clientsetup]
"ClientAppsRoot"="C:\ClientApps" If you moved the Clientapps to drive D: the
ClientAppsRoot must point to the same place..."

I've checked the Registry and it says the correct path Anything else I'm
missing?
(I Tried reinstalling WindowsServer2003-KB889101-SP1-x86-ENU.exe but it
didn't help?)

Anyone?

Russ

Hi Russ,

Thank you for posting in SBS newsgroup.

From your problem description, I understand this issue to be: you could not
install SBS 2k3 sp1 due to the installation of 891193 fail.

For this issue, I would like to give you following troubleshoot plan:

1. Please copy SBS2003-KB891193-X86-ENU.EXE file from the SBS 2k3 SP1 CD #2
on the desktop of your SBS sever
2. Double click to install it again

If the problem still occurs, as a quick work around, I'd like to provide
the following info for your reference:

If you've already installed XP SP2 on all client computers, you can follow
the steps below to avoid installing 891193. If some of the client computers
have not installed XP SP2, please dismiss the following info.

1. Download and install 872769 on the SBS machine.

Thanks, for your reply...

After Thinking about it (Since it was a Fresh install)
I was wondering what Else may have gone wrong..

So I Completely Reinstalled Their Server.
It accepted all the updates this time.
(I Think the CD's from TechSoup.org were old.)
Boy I wish there was a Way to Turn in Old CD's for new ones with patches...

Anyway. It's up and running
Showed them Remote Etc. (And they are all Excited.)
Next week is 55 PC's to Migrate. (The Fun part)

Thanks again For your help
Russ
