Maybe it is not possible but how would you set up mom to use a modem (sms
gateway) to page a tech? This would be in case our email server goes down.
I see a page option but it would appear to be email based and looks like it
uses the email server also. Thanks.

You can set notification to be an external command. You could use this to
run the commands to send a notification to a paging gateway. I believe there
is some discussion of this in the MOM SDK.

Thanks, that was a big help.

DeJay,
MOM includes a "modempage.vbs" file that can be used to send a page through
the modem (you give it the provider phone number, and the pager ID, and the
message).
If you search on MSDN for "modempage.vbs", you'll find a document on how to
use the script (it's pretty easy, you don't need any programming).
We are using it successfully for our paging needs (sorry, not sure about sms)

Thanks David. I'm not a developer so I would have a hard time writing this.
Is there a sample of this solution anywhere? I've looked through the SDK
documentation and can't find it.
