i'm running a small network with 6 pc's running windows xp pro and 1 server
running server 2003. At 5pm every day the opening of files from the server
slows down to a crawl. Resulting in programme not responding. I have checked
to make sure the backup is not running and that there are no virus on any
machine. Has anyone experianced this problem before and how did you over come
it?

My solution would be to go home at 4:30.

Is the AV running a full scan at this point in time? Is Anti-Spyware, etc.?

What can you think of that is different at 1700? Anything turned off?

Otherwise, anything in the event logs?
