Hi guys,

Just wanted to share a discovery. I changed the app pool for a portal
I created to a custom one. It seems that the portal app pool selection
MUST be the same as the virtual directory selections for _vti_pvt, and
the rest. Once I changed them all to be the same app pool (in this
case MsSharePointPortalApp, everything was fixed!

This error led me to believe the problem was NTFS of IIS security.
Brrrngh!
