I installed the NIS portion of SFU 3.5 on one of my DC's and when I
run AD Users and Computers (on that DC) the Unix Attributes Tab is displayed.
When I run AD Users and Computers from one of my other DC's
the Unix Attributes tab does not show up. The SFU extended schema
attributes get replicated to these servers so the info is there on all of the
servers. How do I get the Unix Attributes tab to show up on the other DC's?
Do I have to do an SFU 3.5 install on all of the DC's in my domain?

You probably need to register a DLL or install the tools on that machine.
Exchange requires the Exchange System Management tools installed for this.
SFU probably does too.

If it is located in a dll, do you know which one? I really don't want to
install the product on my other DC's because it adds the Server for NIS
service, which I'm not going to use. Just more dead weight to carry around...

No. I've not looked at SFU I'm afraid.

Cross-posting to the SFU group for additional insight.

Gosh, Paul. Should have sent him over here first. ;) This answer is focused
around running from a workstation that had adminpak.msi installed on it, but
should be the same for other servers in the domain as well.

======================
Technically, there is no _supported_ way to do this. That being said, and
with full disclaimer about this being not supported, not guaranteed to work,
at your own risk, etc., etc. Try the following:

Copy nisprop.dll from the cd to %systemroot%\system32\.

Then run the command:

REGSVR32 NISPROP.DLL

This has been reported by some to work, though there may be problems if
you have AD replication issues. The workstation where this is installed MUST
have a solid trust relationship with the Domain, and both the user account
and the workstation account must reside in the same domain as Server for NIS
is installed.
