I would like to set up email alerts for a group of user. I have found only
possibility to set up alerts for a currently signed user but not for group
of users. Is there any way how to do it ?

Hi Patrick,

As administrator, I have done this with user groups assigned through AD.
For instance, we have users assigned to a group named "Faculty" and I simply
'subscribe' this group by using the email address for this group to the
webpart I wish to push the alerts out from. The alert is assigned to me but
goes to the recipients I wish it to go to who are assigned to this group.
Again this is using AD to compile the group.

Hasaj,

You can setup a Security Group in AD with an Exchange email account and put
the appropriate users in that Security Group. Use the email address of the
group in your alert (ie: PortalSite@contoso.com=Group).
