Can SharePoint Portal be manipulated using VB Script?

In our environment the the infrastructure team owns SharePoint. They are
very familiar with VB Script but have no experience in .Net.

We would prefer to have management of SharePoint Portal done via VB Script.

I would expect that most things can be done in VB Script although you cannot
write a new web part without at least some basic knowledge of .Net.

I am not sure why you need VB Script for management. SPS had all the
management pages already created.
