I think I am making this too hard....
I have a W2k network - 3 wk2 dcs and 2 new win2k3 members.
I want to eventually have the W2k3 servers as dcs but dragging my feet to
do
the adprep and forest prep and then taking into consideration the
existing
W2k PDC has all the master roles which would then have to be transferred.
Can i just simply upgrade the current W2k PDC by running the Win2k3 setup
OR
do i still have to go thru the adprep and forest prep steps?
Makes sense to upgrade the W2k PDC because it is the PDC, dns, wins, and
all
the other role holder. Would any of those services be impacted with an
upgrade?
Are there any hinderances to upgrading w2k to w2k3 on the same box versus
taking an existing w2k3 server and promoting it to a dc? Which would you
do?
