On my way back... |
|
|
How-dee, folks. I wanted to apologize for dropping off the face of the
newsgroups after a flurry of posts. I was battling a rather nasty sinus
infection, and trying to teach at the same time.
Well, I'm back, and I'm breathing through my nose again. Don't take
such trivial things (nose-breathing) for granted, folks! You'd miss it
if it were gone!
I hear that Mike Walsh is no longer posting in the newsgroups. It's a
shame that he has chosen to face criticism of his, shall we say,
draconian newsgroup guideline enforcement techniques by leaving
altogether, but he is still committed to keeping the great WSS FAQ
up-to-date. If you haven't seen the WSS FAQ, you should check it out.
Right now. Don't wait.

Mike, your _contributions_ to the newsgroup will be missed.
There are a lot of posts here; too many for me to catch up to. I'm
going to have to flag all as read, and catch up from there. :) I'll
start watching the newsgroups more closely this week, and by the end of
next week, I'll be monitoring them throughout the day.
So, again, sorry for not being around for the past few weeks, but I'm
looking forward to jumping back into the fray! Whee!
Best wishes,

Mike is still around and helping users.
Don't trash people, even in a nice way. It isn't very becoming.
Glad you are feeling better and have available time for posting answers, but
I don't think apologies are necessary. There are others who answer posts. :-)

I didn't trash Mike. I went out of my way to praise his work, and will
continue to, as it's an incredibly valuable asset, even to "old guard"
SharePoint geeks like me. I expressed disappointment that he left the
newsgroups rather than address the criticisms made by other users.
If he's reading, and is offended by my feelings about his departure from
the newsgroups, I apologize to him, but I maintain that there are better
ways to handle criticism than taking your toys and playing elsewhere.
