IPs not names shown via "net session" |
|
|
On my old NT4 Server, typing "net session" at a command prompt returned a
list of connected users and their computer names. When I try this here on
Server 2003, the list shows IP addresses instead of computer names. Why? And
is there a way to make it show names instead? |

No, we don't have WINS. I guess we could set it up. Still curious as to why
the default behaviour seems to have changed, though. The old system didn't
have WINS either. And all the net session docs I've seen don't mention it as
being necessary.
