Hi all,
I am getting desperate.

I restored a portal from a backup, which i presume already had a _serv
database which was in an unknown state.

I am getting these errors in the event log
"The gatherer files cannot be flushed, and this action cannot be
completed. The gatherer will attempt to flush files again. If the
problem persists, restart the service, free system resources or verify
that your hardware is working properly. "

The non portal content catalog was not restored correctly. I have tried
resetting the index but it won't work. it used to give me an error
similar to "could not continue scan due to NOLOCK"

I tried to dbcc checktable on the srch_gathererlog_2 table as it had
errors in the index allocation. this did not work either.

Now I am in a state where the _SERV database is I think unusable.

All the data is in the _SITE database, including listings at the portal
level.

Is there any way of rebuilding the _SERV database or rebuild the index
cleanly?

Perhaps create a new portal and then attach this _SITE database to the
new portal with a clean set of portal and non portal catalogs?
Supported or unsupported methods are welcome.

I would appreciate ANY help.
