It's been a while since I have tinkered with LCS 2003. In the console, at
the very top, should be a greenish looking item for your forest. Can you
right-click on that and open the properties. Make sure that the SIP URI
that you are using @whatever.com is part of the SIP URIs. Generally
@forest.local or @domain.forest.local is in the by default, but the SIP URI
based upon the e-mail addresses is not.
