Hi MoMers,

I m trying to set up the KB http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555455/en-us
for non Windows OS. I ve many types of OS like linux, HP-UX...
Im blocked at the 3rd step :

3. Compile the MIB file for the SNMP traps you get from other vendors
using the SMI2SMIR utility. This will load the MIB information into the
WMI \\.\root\snmp\smir namespace. (example: smi2smir.exe /sa /t <MIB
file> or smi2smir.exe /a <MIB file> or smi2smir.exe /g <MIB file> <MOF
file>)

Where can i find this files ? must i compile/create them from the unix
servers ?

Is it possible to load more than one MIB file (from different non
windows OS) on the same Windows server MOM agent ?

urgent, Thanks.

Daniel,

Sorry to ask again, but my pb is not about the KB but only on a point of
it :

Compile the MIB file for the SNMP traps you get from other vendors using
the SMI2SMIR utility. This will load the MIB information into the WMI
\\.\root\snmp\smir namespace. (example: smi2smir.exe /sa /t <MIB file>
or smi2smir.exe /a <MIB file> or smi2smir.exe /g <MIB file> <MOF file>)

Where can i find the MIB file ? i ve many non windows OS, i think i must
get one MIB per OS ? Can i put more than one MIB on the same agent
computer ?

Regards.

I m not a Unix guy, so could you give me a detailed way to do that ?
