Deleting an Old domain |

In my event log I get the following message:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: NETLOGON
Event Category: None
Event ID: 5719
Date: 11/6/2005
Time: 9:40:29 PM
User: N/A
Computer: NABOO
Description:
This computer was not able to set up a secure session with a domain
controller in domain HOLLYHILL due to the following:
There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request.
This may lead to authentication problems. Make sure that this computer is
connected to the network. If the problem persists, please contact your domain
administrator.
ADDITIONAL INFO
If this computer is a domain controller for the specified domain, it sets up
the secure session to the primary domain controller emulator in the specified
domain. Otherwise, this computer sets up the secure session to any domain
controller in the specified domain.

The domain referenced is an old NT 4.0 domain that we no longer use as we
have moved over to AD with a new domain name. My question is, how can I get
the network to stop looking for the old domain and subsequently stop logging
these messages?

You will need to find the machine NABOO which is generating this
message. It thinks it still belongs to the old domain. It must be connected
to your network and trying to log on. You will need to disjoin it from that
domain (eg by putting it in a workgroup), then rejoin it to the new domain.
Has any user been complaining about being unable to see the resouces on the
new domain?

Is there an LMHOSTS file on this machine referencing the old domain and it's
DC?
Check this link for more possibilities, but the above is the first thing I
would look for.

Thanks Ace,
At the link you provided I found reference to "Trusts". I checked and I
still had a trust relationship set up for the old domain. I removed it. I am
guessing I wont see that message anymore. If I do I'll be back. :)

Glad it helped. It was probably due to the trust since it would be looking
for the PDC of that domain for the other end of the trust.
