MOM2005 doesn't update computer state |
|
|
Hi all,
after a simple service unavailable alert or ping issue in MOM2005 and a auto
restore of the real state of the computer, MOM2005 keeps this alert as active
or Investigate (instead of inactive) and doesn't update the state of the
computer. Then, each day, I have computers in red, even if they are OK back.
When I stopped manually a service and wait for the alert in MOM, and then
restart the service, the state bring back OK as expected. It seems to be only
for some alerts...
In such situation, I can have the real "instant" state of my computers ! |

I had the same problem.
Look for this post in this newsgroup 'MOM's own agent not showing up in
operator console"

Sorry Yann, I think it's different:
all my servers are listed in the op. console, they communicate with the mgt
server.
My problem is only that the computer state is not refreshed in the console
if the problem was solved without human action.
The result is that I still have computers in red in the state view, even if
all are OK at the present time (example: network issue occured but fixed now).
In others words, as long as i have a red alert for one computer, this
computer is shown in red in the state view, even if the problem is fixed
(because the alert is still in Active or Investigate state (problem state
column) instead of Inactive). The only thing to do to get a green flag: to
set the alert as resolved.

Which management pack do you have on this server ?
I'm not sure that the state view works with MOM 2000 MPs
