The following message could not be delivered to all recipien |

I have read most of the posts related to this question and have tried almost
everything there is to get users to be able to communicate with messenger
5.1. They can see each other but cannot chat. We get this error message.
"The following message could not be delivered to all recipients:" We are
using LCS 2005 on a 2003 server with Exchange server running also.
The only strange thing that I have come across is the posts syaing that if
the routing application is disabled or missing then you need to enable it or
create it. Looking at ours, which was running and enabled, there was
something strange. Instead of http://www.microsoft.com/RTC/DefaultRouting I
have http://www.microsoft.com/LCS/DefaultRouting for my URI. If I try and
change or create it like KB839507 says to do, then Nothing works. Can't even
log in to messenger. Can someone please help?
Thanks in Advance! |

Make sure you have set up your pool and it is resolvable in DNS.

Dubb:
You may want to post this as a new article and reference this old thread.
That should get the attention of most of the folks. Sometimes when it gets
buried in threads it gets lost.
I read Greg's response and he is on the numbers.
This message is common when you have an LCS 2005 EE install and the clients
point to the server name instead of the pool name. The pool name and server
name are the same in an LCS 2005 SE install...so the clients, technically,
are pointing to the pool name on the SE server.
Post a new thread with this information, the version of LCS 2005 (Enterprise
or Standard), number of servers, etc. If it's enterprise, note what you
have done with DNS. Also note how the Messenger client is configured
(TCP/TLS), etc.
This message is also common on a 2+ server LCS 2005 EE deployment or a 2+
server LCS 2005 SE deployment where MTLS has not been configured.
