Hi,

i have some problems with files ending ".d83". IE opens this files in IE and
there is no open/save dialog.
The file are uploaded to a document library.

I have tested some file types:

test.t : dialog open/save opens
test.t83 : shows in IE
test.d83 : shows in IE
test.x : dialog open/save opens

Has anyone an idea? D83 is an extension for our application and we need to
download and save it to disk.

If you right-click on the Name of the file (making sure you are over the
name and not just over the area after the name) , there is a Save As option.

Otherwise for not opening in the browser but in the file's application, this
isn't strictly a WSS problem - see
http://www.asaris-matrix.com/mvp-walsh/Lists/WSS%20FAQ/DispForm.aspx?ID=301
and naturally also associate this file type with the app you want to use.
