Application Partition and DCDiag Problem - please help! |
|
|
Hi,
I am hoping you can help me. I recently removed an old DC which happened
to be a dns server too. Replaced it with another DC (same name and IP for
legacy app requirements) and reconfigured DNS and AD.
Have a couple of problems.
Let me explain how the AD was originally
WIN2K3 - DNS, AD
WIN2K3 - AD
WIN2K - DNS, AD
I removed DNS from the 2K3 server and transfered the roles to the other 2K3
AD controller. Demoted the server, had to be a forced demotion as it
complained about and Application Partition.
Brought up the new Server (2K3) and added to domain, installed AD and DNS etc.
After configuring DNS I went to "Create Default Application Directory
Partitions", this comes up with an error "The Partition to replicate zone
data to all dns servers in the active directory was not created. the
specified directory partition already exists"
Any suggestions?
Is there any way I can delete this as I guess it relates to the old dns
server?
The second problem to to with DC diag is when I run DCDiag on the 2K server.
It fails on RIDManager and MachineAccount, log below
Starting test: RidManager
ldap_search_sW subtree of DC=ntcad,DC=notcutts,DC=co,DC=uk for sam
account failed with 234: More data is available.
No rids allocated -- please check eventlog.
......................... PC8000 failed test RidManager
Starting test: MachineAccount
ldap_search_sW failed with 234: More data is available.
ldap_search_sW subtree of DC=ntcad,DC=notcutts,DC=co,DC=uk for sam
account failed with 234: More data is available.

Can anyone shed any light on this.
Your help very much appreciated.
