I have a weird issue with trying to reach a server. I cannot ping the server
remotely, or remote desktop to it. However, the server is our main
file/print server, and users have no issues connecting to shares, printing,
etc. I have tried removing from the domain and re-adding it. It is
successfully re-added, but I still cannot ping. I few weeks ago I noticed
that it had a missing host record in DNS, but I have since added this (with
associated PTR). Any ideas why this is happening?

Maybe it's configured to not respond to pings.
