W2K3 cluster Exchange and SQL |

Has anyone installed a 2 node active/passive cluster with both Exchange 2003
and SQL ?

server and want's extra redundancy - only 15 users or so, so I don't see why
and a/p cluster wouldn't do the same ?
I agree if the budget was there - as other customers have done, have two

While I'm sure many have before, this is definitely not recommended. Both
applications require lots of resources and you'd be defeating the purpose of
your cluster by overloading it with both SQL and Exchange.
I guess if you had a gun to your head, you might be able to do an A/A/P with
SQL on one active node and Exchange on the other...but I'd still not
recommend this.

There's nothing that would prevent you from setting up a cluster this way.
Personally, I would set the cluster up Active/Active so they get a possible
performance increase as well as HA.

I thought of Active Active, i.e. SQL running on one node and Exchange on the
other. I guess it depends on the amount of disks they have bought in the
external subsystem (note I havn't specified the kit) ;>)
