HELP! Not seeing Any Files In DFS Domain Share |
|
|
Hi Guys,
All of a sudden I have stoped seeing any files in my DFS Share, i.e.
''\\domain_name\dfs_share\users\". I have two servers, one running W2K3 and
the other WK2. On my W2K3 server, I can open \\server-name\dfs_share\users\"
and find the relevant users. However if i go to the drive, i.e.
"f:\dfs_share\users\" the users folder or "\\domain_name\dfs_share\users"
they are empty as a result I cannot see any of my users. On my W2K Server it
is a similar situation. I can access the share via
\\server_name\dfs_share\users\ and find all my users, however, if I try to
access "F:\dfs_share\users\" the users folder is coming up empty. Any
suggestions on what may have gone wrong here.
Thanks

Access the share via the DFS UNC and right-click in the folder and choose
properties. There's a DFS tab. Click it and see which server you are
actually connected to. Connect to that and see if the files are there.
Then connect to the other link target(s) and see if the files are on those.
Two things that spring to mind:
You're not replicating.
The files are hidden (unlikely).

Hi Paul,
When I check the properties for the DFS share it is consisent with another
workstation that is getting the share. Also, i'm definitely replicating. I
know that because I ran replmon and monitored the servers. Along with that I
also created a file under the DFS share on from my workstation and then
checked the servers and the data was available on both. |
